SHIT & THE MIDNIGHT MEXICAN HIGHWAY
“NO PARTY”
Release Date: March 24, 2023
Format: 7" / MP3
Genre: Punk / Hardcore

A young band's strange, chaotic journey from Chiba to Chihuahua, Shit & The Midnight Mexican Highway is a road drama of late nights and punk rites. The group's second release on wax weaves together tall tales from their Tokyo stomping ground and beyond. A lot of ground gets covered over 8 songs in less than 10 minutes.

Hosaken's skiffle guitar stylings give the band its signature scratchy sound, creating tension that is thrilling yet devoid of pretentious posturing. This provides the cue for Hattori's precision-minded percussive wallop. Revved up, bassist Patrick fine-tunes the group's old-school hardcore growl. More Harley-Davidson than UJM, this boss hog pays tribute to classic U.S. eighties skate-punk and thrash.

Shino has toured the globe as a music tourist and superfan, a devotee of North American indie and punk. His connections to punk are many, and if you've never met him and marveled at his mischievous humor and good-spirited nature, you will now with this mini-album.

Funny and slightly freakish, Shino shifts Midnight Mexican Highway's gears into all the right places. Shit & The Midnight Mexican Highway prove that old school is cool and that the old SST credo remains true: Corporate rock still sucks.
